I bought my first Tubby Dubbonet kindle book out of order and enjoyed it so much I decided to get this set. I like Tubby's character and also got a chuckle at some of the amusing situations in the books. The stories are not bogged down with legalese so that someone without knowledge of the system wouldn't be bored reading these books. I have worked in the legal field for years and although Tubby may not be an 100% accurate portrayal of an attorney, he has some of the better traits of lawyers that I have known throughout the years.
Tubby Dubonnet is a ?New Orleans lawyer with often usual clients.No matter how crooked he is, no matter how many strange things happen, Tubby always sticks by his friends and somehow comes out on top.I truly enjoy the Tubby Dubonnet books.
Very enjoyable. It joins the ranks of the quirky Florida book genre that I am liking more as I grow older. I am not sure if he is a great role modle but I appreciate Tubby's moral compass and that fact that he doesn't over-agonize about things.
Tony sure is a wordsmith. he can turn a word into a chuckle or a groan. Tubby is a wonderful caracture and the second book was as good as the first. When she told him that her and the minister were getting married and he slipped the blue check in his pocket, I thought the book could have ended there. I laughed out loud. Reminded me of taxi driver's last line, I stuffed the bill in my shirt.
I truly love this series of books by Tony Dunbar and if you like mysteries with the magic of the backdrop of New Orleans thrown in, you are going to love them too. You will fall in love with the main characters quirky but loveable messes he gets himself in. Without giving the plots or injecting a spoiler I will say, get these books and I guarantee you won't.be disappointed.
I have read all 5 books and look forward to more. The mysteries have twists to keep you on your toes. Reading them in order helps to keep the continuity in the storyline. The author's descriptions of places and foods makes you feel like you are in New Orleans with him. Worthy reads.
Delightfully written, great stories, love the characters and the New Orleans setting/atmosphere. Very glad to have gotten this as a box set, easier to binge!
