I bought this cook book as a gift for my 13 year old grand daughter. She has made every recipe in the book in the past month, The recipes are easy to prepare and taste great. She cooks dinner several nights a week. Her 11 year old brother has also used the cook book and thinks cooking is great fun. It sure has helped my son and daughter-in-law who work out of the house. It has taught my grand children how to plan meals, make a grocery list and cook meals for the family. Great christmas gift or birthday gift.
I bought this for my daughter in the hopes it might encourage her to explore more foods (picky eater). Jack is a local boy and came to her school so that helped encourage the excitement. So far we've made 3 meals and all have been delicious. My daughter has marked a bunch more in the book for us to try so in my mind that's a win!
I became acquainted with this young man at a "Books and Authors" luncheon and was so moved by his story and charmed by his personality. I bought two at the event and have since bought two more. This book is well illustrated and clear; it is a perfect gift for young people learning to cook and for cooks of any age. This is a wonderful book and an admirable young man.
I saw Jack on TV and thought of my 9 yr old grandson. I purchased the book, and looked over the recipes. It was written by a kid for kids and I think any child could learn from this boy. My grandson loves to help in the kitchen when he can. Plus the proceeds go to a great cause.
My budding 9 year old chef loves this book. I am a cancer nurse, so this boy's story really touched my heart, as well as, my son's. My son got into cooking through his father and watching cooking shows. It has been a lot of fun for all of us to spend family time cooking in the kitchen with this as a tool. The "twist it up" concept makes so much sense with a children's cookbook. My son hates following recipes and uses them more as a guide. So, he likes that aspect of it. I look forward to more cookbooks from this little one!
This is probably the best kids cookbook I found. I had bought othersfor my great-granddaughter, who is almost 11, and very interested inlearning to "really cook", not just use a microwave oven. This book is muchmore clear and sensible than most.
I bought this for my great nephew's 10th birthday. His mother said he's excited to make the recipes..
I bought this book for my eight year old grandson who likes to cook. It was written by another young boy with a very interesting backstory (covered in the book), so the recipes are age appropriate and the kinds of things young people and their families would eat. My grandson is quite pleased with it and has already been planning some meals for his family.
