I loved this book. The story of two people who like each other in high school, but neither knew it at the time. They are reunited 10 years later. The author also includes the Lord and the gospel without being preachy. There's a little bit of mystery that keeps you guessing as to who the Christmas thief is.

Grant and Melody knew each other in high school, not realizing each other had a crush on the other. Grant stayed in town to join the police department while Melody went across the country for college. When her husband passed away, Melody and five year old Adam moved back home to start over. When Grant stops Melody for a traffic violation, they’re both shocked to see each other. This is a sweet romance with a little mystery involved. I loved this story of second chances and letting God lead!

Lawfully Blessed is another sweet, heartwarming romance from Evangeline Kelly. Her stories never disappoint. This book is a second chance friends to lovers meets the Grinch who stole Christmas tale. I loved all the characters, not just the main ones. These characters are just like the people I know. This story had my attention from page one as I said the heck with household chores, found a comfy seat, a fleecy blanket and hot chocolate. Then I enjoyed this wonderful story!

This was a great book that I couldn't put down. I loved the characters and how they interacted. I loved Grant's down-to-earth ways and how honorable he was. Melody was a strong character herself in making the best of her situation in life. The chemistry was amazing between the couple, but they also had a past from which to draw on. Each character had situations that helped them grow their characters. Overall this was a sweet second-chance romance.

This is such a sweet story about two people who knew one another in high school but felt unsure about their relationship and finally had a second chance to get together and share their honest feelings.

Melody and Grant were good friends their senior year of high school. Melody had a huge crush on Grant, but made sure he never knew. After all he was a “football celebrity” and she was a gawky nerd. Someone like him would never want someone like her. Right? She couldn't handle the inevitable distance he would put between them over time. It was better to just rip the band aid off all at once. So after graduation she cut ties with him and moved away. After a miserable marriage, and being widowed for a year, she moves back to her hometown with her 5 year old son. He was the only good thing that came of moving away and marrying. Grant is a police officer and runs into Melody twice in the line of duty. He can't believe his good luck. Can they have a second chance after 10 years? Can she possibly like him too? This story takes place at Christmas times. Some books I've read take place during Christmas, but there are just a couple of mentions of it. You don't really get that Christmas feel. In Lawfully Blessed Christmas isn't just an after thought. I like the connection that Melody and Grant have with each other. Melody's son, Adam, is cute and has a great connection with Grant as well. His character doesn't overwhelm or detract from the story like I've seen in some other books. I definitely recommend this book especially at Christmas time. It has a great message about the true meaning of Christmas. It will get you in the Christmas mood for sure. This is a sweet/clean book without any graphic sex scenes.

A sweet second chance romance that happens around Christmas. Even though Melody was returning as a widow with her son they do not see a big Christmas ahead of them. But moving back to her hometown gave her a sense of home, and her meeting up with Grant, her friend from high school that followed his dream to become a police officer, she was finding another chance at love. But the one thing she didn't think she would be finding was a Christmas thief in town that would hit her apartment stealing all of the presents for Adam. She couldn't bear his sadness and unfortunately she couldn't afford to replace all his gifts, but she found that Grant loved Adam and made possible that what she couldn't replace he gave Adam as a gift himself. But Grant had waited all his life for Melody and he was ready to make them a family and to wish for a large family like he was raised in and they decided to give it to the Lord and let Him decide the number of children they would have to bless their home. Yes a home built around love for God, each other, and family. Lawfully Blessed is a wonderful Christmas addition to the Lawkeepers series.

Grant Brooks was the popular football player in high school, but he was always nice.He wanted to hang out with Melody then, but she always brushed him off. They became friends in detention.Melody is back home after leaving for college, she married and had a son, Adam. Now widowed, she's leery of dating again after he husband cheated on her. And when she keeps running into Grant, he asks her out for coffee.Grant is still single, a cop and on the hunt for a grinch, a thief stealing jewelry and presents. He's glad to get a second chance with Melody, despite Cassidy Andersen (her last name changed mid-way through to Farley) the mean girl that was once Melody's friend, now nemesis. Cassidy wants Grant back (they dated briefly after high school) and then he broke it off with her. She tried to highjack their coffee date. Good for Grant for pursuing Melody.A very sweet read with Christian references. Liked that Grant was a good man.Recommend.I voluntarily reviewed this book.
